Is this a diagnosis?
Nope, categorically not. This isn’t clinical, and it won’t tell you whether you are or aren’t neurodivergent. It’s a self-discovery tool, a way to explore how your brain might work, and spot patterns that feel familiar. It will give you hints and suggestions that we hope will help in some way, but this is not a clinical diagnosis and anyone offering one via some online forms is lying to you.
Who is this for?
Anyone curious about their own unique wiring! Whether you've always felt "a bit different," suspect you might be neurodivergent, are considering seeking a diagnosis, or simply want to understand yourself better - this is for you. It's also valuable for family members, friends, or partners wanting to understand neurodiversity better.
Is it science-backed?
Yes, as much as we possibly can. The questions and themes draw from well-established research in psychology and neuroscience. But this isn’t a formal assessment, it’s designed to be accessible, reflective, and emotionally safe.
Will I get a score?
Not in the traditional sense. Instead of a cold number, you'll receive personalized insights about your unique traits and thinking patterns, along with practical suggestions for thriving. It's about recognizing your strengths and understanding how your wonderful brain works - not scoring or ranking you.
What happens with my data?
If you don’t sign up, nothing is saved on this site, just in your browser. If you do choose to sign up, we only store what’s needed to help you revisit and build on your self-discovery. Your data is private and never sold or shared.
Is this really free?
Yes, completely and forever free. There's an optional donation feature if you'd like to support the project, but there's no pressure and it doesn't unlock extra features. This isn't "free" like social media platforms that sell your data - this is genuinely free because understanding yourself shouldn't be a privilege available only to those who can afford it.
Can I share my results?
You’ll soon be able to publish a “Working with Me” or “How I Thrive” page, a way to help others understand and support you. You’ll stay in control of what’s shown, and we’ll never share anything you don’t tell us to. This is important and personal, you need to stay in control and we feel very strongly about that.
How long does this take?
About 10-15 minutes for the main discovery journey. You can pause anytime and come back to it. There's no rush - take your time to reflect on each question at your own pace.
What if I relate to some things but I'm not actually neurodivergent?
That's completely valid! Everyone exists on a spectrum of human neurodiversity. Whether you're neurodivergent or not, understanding how your brain works is valuable. Many traits exist in neurotypical people too - it's about patterns, intensity, and how they impact your daily life. Trust your own experience and self-knowledge.
What if my results don't feel right to me?
You know yourself best. If something doesn't resonate, trust that feeling. Our tool is based on common patterns, but every person is unique. Use the results as a starting point for reflection, not as definitive answers. Your lived experience and self-understanding are more important than any quiz result.
What should I do with my results?
That's entirely up to you! Some people use results for self-reflection and understanding. Others share insights with loved ones or use them as conversation starters with healthcare providers. You might explore our guides, connect with neurodivergent communities, or simply feel validated in your experiences. There's no "right" next step - only what feels right for you.
Is this safe if I have anxiety or mental health concerns?
We've designed this to be as gentle and non-triggering as possible. However, self-discovery can sometimes bring up emotions. If you're going through a difficult time, consider taking the journey when you feel emotionally stable, or with support nearby. You can always stop anytime, and remember - this is about celebrating your strengths, not highlighting difficulties.
Can I use this if I'm already diagnosed?
Absolutely! Even with a diagnosis, there's always more to discover about yourself. This tool can help you identify your unique strengths, understand your specific traits better, and find new strategies for thriving. Many diagnosed people find it validating and helpful for articulating their experiences to others.
How is this different from other online quizzes?
Most online quizzes are clickbait or oversimplified. Ours is grounded in research, focuses on your strengths rather than deficits, and doesn't claim to diagnose. We're not trying to put you in a box - we're helping you understand your unique neural wiring with nuance, compassion, and respect for your complexity.
What about privacy at work or with insurance?
Your results are completely private to you. This isn't a medical assessment, so it's not something you'd need to disclose to employers or insurance. If you choose to share insights about your needs or working style, that's entirely your decision. You have complete control over what you share and with whom.
What if I'm worried I'm just making excuses?
This is such a common worry, especially for people who've been told they're "too sensitive" or should "try harder." Understanding how your brain works isn't making excuses - it's self-awareness. Knowing you need quiet to focus or that transitions are hard isn't a weakness, it's valuable information that helps you thrive. You deserve understanding and support.
Who made this and why?
Hi, I'm Chris. I built this tool because, like many others, I realised I was wired a bit differently. Over the years, I've been on my own journey of understanding how my brain works, how it affects my relationships, and what helps me thrive.
This site started as something I wanted for myself and those close to me, a simple, judgement-free way to better understand how our brains work. With long NHS wait times and little accessible support, I didn't want that to be a barrier for others. So I built this.
It's not about labels or "fixing" anything. It's about curiosity, kindness, and finding ways to make life a little easier for all of us.
